Meet Megan

Tell us about THE dress and what inspired your look.
When I first started looking at dresses I wasn't sure exactly what type I wanted. I knew I wanted something simple and elegant. I wanted to feel comfortable in it and be able to dance all night. When I tried on my dress for the 1st time I fell in love. I felt comfortable, beautiful and for the 1st time like a bride. I didn't want to take it off. Even 11 months later when I went back for my 1st fitting I was still in love with my dress so I knew I picked the right one. The dress was simple, but still classic enough to go with the theme of our wedding.

What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?
I think the most important details were finding the right dress, right photographer and DJ. Once you get those 3 important things everything else starts to fall into place. The perfect dress will make you feel like a princess all day, the right photographer will capture you day exactly how you want it, and the right DJ will help you throw the best party of your life with the people you love the most.

What was the most memorable moment?
I think the whole day from start to finish was absolutely perfect. I always tell people "It was the best day of my life. If I could do it all again I would, and I wouldn't change a thing." But if I had to pick the most memorable moment I think it would be the moment before the church doors opened. It was just my dad and in the back waiting for the doors to open. I was so excited and a little nervous (I didn't want to fall or pass out). Once the doors opened this calming came over me as I saw Matt's face as he saw me for the 1st time and I just wanted to run down the aisle to him. :)

If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?
Enjoy everything from start to finish. Everything goes by so quickly that you have to enjoy every little thing from the planning to the actually day. Even though it can be stressful at times it is totally worth it!
Also, I would tell them to not worry about the small stuff. No one is going to remember the small stuff (colored napkins, flowers at the reception, invitations, etc). They will remember how much fun they had and how they got to see you marry the love of your life! :)

Wedding Inspiration: Vintage Rose

Wedding Inspiration: Vintage Rose

It's been a little while since I wrote a blog for my boutique. Our boutique has endured a complete renovation and we have grown so much. We want to thank all of our customers for their continued support of Lilla's Bridal Boutique. Without our customers there would be no need to write this blog.

It's no secret that I am crazy about the color blush and all things vintage so when one of my bridal vendors, Essense of Australia sent me this, I felt there was a need to share this highly inspirational blog with all of you!

A muted, more sophisticated, alternative to the traditional shade of rose, vintage rose is the perfect color for your romantic – and vintage – inspired day. Here’s a little wedding inspiration to create the vintage rose wedding of your dreams!

Color Palette
Vintage rose is lovely as an accent color, but can really be used as a neutral, as well. Pair with other shades of rose, golds, or even dark shades, like grey.
