Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Seth Cornell

Lillas Bridal Boutique was proud to be a part of Seth and Bethany's wedding day. Bethany worked with owner, Dianna Sauder of Lilla's Bridal to create her vintage inspired look. Her dress was simply breathtaking. In addition, Bethany purchased one of Dianna's handmade bridal sashes to coordinate beautifully with her gown.

Here, they share some of their most special moments.
1.Tell us about THE dress and what inspired your look.

I. LOVE. THIS. DRESS.  The inspiration for my look all came once Seth and I chose our venue. We landed a spot at Lakeview Farms-- the location was absolutely beautiful and the reception was to be held in this gorgeous, rustic, restored barn -- so right off the bat I wanted something to go with our "rustic" yet "chic" theme. When I started looking for my wedding gown, I knew I wanted a dress with lace, something soft and chic, and of course I needed a little bling. To be honest, the gown I ended up choosing wasn't necessarily what I originally thought I would have picked. But I'm so glad I did! It had the lace and the fit that I wanted, we added the belt for bling, and the birdcage veil was the perfect piece to top it all off! In the end, I was more than happy with how the whole look came together! It fit our venue and theme and ME- perfectly!

2. What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?
In my opinion, Pinterest has become a game changer for wedding planning, and I definitely took advantage of that! I was able to take so many great ideas from there and even add my own twist to make everything fit our taste, venue, and theme. We planned our wedding in a fairly short amount of time, so I wanted to get as many things crossed off of our list as possible- the sooner the better. Once we booked all of the "big things"-- the venue, the photographer, the caterer, etc ...the rest was the smaller details.. though overwhelming at first, over time, seemed to just fall into place. I made a lot of my own decorations, flower arrangements, etc, so there were definitely stressful moments, but Seth helped keep me grounded. We tried to set aside specific "date nights" to just go out and enjoy being together, away from all the planning. That really helped. And to future brides-- on the day of the wedding- just enjoy it! All the hard work and planning is over, so let go of any remaining stress and take in every moment as you celebrate the love and commitment of you and your future hubby!! :)

3. What was the most memorable moment?

One of my favorite moments from that day was our "first look."  I would highly recommend this to any bride! I'll never forget the look on Seth's face when he turned around and saw me for the first time in my dress! He made me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt! Having those moments together, just the two of us, was so special and we STILL talk about it. It gave us a chance to see each other with no one else nearby, which was nice, because it was really the only alone time we had together all day. The photographers stood at a distance capturing our sweet moment, yet we still had privacy to say whatever we wanted to each other and to just be us. :)

Lastly, the bride says this:
Thanks for being so wonderful, sweet, and helpful in the process of finding my perfect gown! You were a pleasure to work with!
I absolutely LOVED my dress and got SOOO many compliments on it!!!

Love,
Bethany

Top 10 Tips for Brides When Choosing Their Wedding Shoes

penelope.collection

Lilla's Bridal wanted to share these important tips for selecting shoes on your wedding day. This is great advice for the bride to be... Enjoy!

1. Choose a design you love. It is the biggest day of your life. Shoes are the sculpture that will not only hold you but your soul and your spirit. Every girl feels special in beautiful heels. Shoes can easily be stored forever to love, cherish and remind you of your special day.

2. Decide if you want to wear your shoes again. If so, opt for an ivory silk that is dyeable. All our shoes are made in the finest duchess ivory silk and come with a swatch for you to test for dying if required. Our signature styles featuring a hand mosaicked mother pearl heel look fabulous once dyed. The mother of pearl heel looks incredibly vivacious against darker colors and turns the shoe into a stunning evening/special occasion shoe.

3. Consider the heel height and toe shape you are looking for. In our classic collection we offer something that will suit everybody concentrating on fit, line contour being flattering and sexy. Choose a heel height you feel comfortable in and a shoe shape you would usually wear.

4. Shoe clips are a fantastic way of adding detail to your shoes. Not only will they last forever and can be added to other shoes, you can decide where you want to put them on the shoe. You can also exchange your clips for example adding a more glitzy clip for your dinner and dance so it appears you have two different pairs of shoes.

5. Consider the season or climate you will be getting married in. Open sling backs are better if you are getting married in a hotter climate and peep toes are good all year around. The Emma Shoes are perfect if you are getting married on a beach as they are a flat peep toe style, made with the finest French Chantilly lace so very breathable. Its advisable to wear an unlined shoe if you are getting married in a hot climate. If you will be wearing your heels on a grassy or muddy surface be aware they might get stained, consider the mother of pearl heel that is not only stunningly beautiful but also is sustainable and can be easily cleaned. A great way to stop your heels sinking into grassy surfaces is to use heel protectors.

6. Consider the design of your dress. If you are having a lot of details maybe opt for small subtle details on your shoes, such as pearl buttons and mother of pearl heels. If you have special material on your dress maybe think of using the material and having a bespoke clip made of it.

7. Think of what jewelry and accessories you will be wearing. For example if you are wearing pearls or diamonds, shoes with details that have a similar look can complete your look. Our Beatrice Shoe Clips combine both crystals and fresh water pearls and complement most jewelry.

8. Wear your shoes a few times so they mould to your foot shape. Ensure your shoes come with extra padding for comfort, and come with a protective plastic film on the sole so it will not get marked or damaged which should be removed before your special day.

9. Don’t leave them until last! Brides often focus purely on the wedding dress and leave the shoes until the last minute. Aim to choose your shoes around the same time as your dress - you’ll need to bring them to fittings to determine the length of your gown.

10. Treat your feet! Remember to schedule a lovely pedicure before your big day. Slip your feet into your gorgeous wedding shoes with soft skin, neat cuticles and glossy painted nails.

The Knot's Special Reminders

The Knot reminds brides of the important things to keep in mind when preparing for gown alterations to ensure all expectations are in order and the gown remains the dress of your dreams!

Many gowns need at least some sort of alteration, but keep in mind that your alteration issues can vary greatly, depending on where you got your gown and how many changes need to be made. But if your expectations are in order and you go to the right seamstress or tailor, you should be ready for your wedding day with a gown that fits flawlessly.
